The Eta Lambda Chapter was officially established on May 20, 1920 in Atlanta, Georgia, after initially being called Delta Lambda during its formation in 1919. It is recognized as the mother chapter of Alpha in Atlanta and has played a pivotal role in the fraternity’s growth and influence in the region. Charter members included Joseph D. McGhee, and the chapter has hosted notable events, including visits from W. E. B. DuBois and other civil rights leaders.
